Courtown to Aberystwyth R.I.B. / P.W.C. Run
2009
On the morning of the 8th of August we see the beginning of an epic voyage sure to challenge man and machine. Early on the Saturday morning a group of brave powerboaters and jet skiers are setting off from the picturesque village of Courtown bound for Aberystwyth in Wales. It is all in aid of the good cause Hope Cancer Care Centre which is close to everyones hearts and does a huge amount of good for many many people .
The run is starting at half past five on Saturday the 8th of August with a skippers and crew briefing. We then hope to hit the water and depart by half six at the very latest, the fleet will make four stops at designated waypoints on the voyage to regroup and chill for a few mins. Upon reaching Aberystwyth the fleet will regroup for photos and then procede to the marina.
On the Saturday evening a dinner will be arranged for all participants followed by a night on the town ( if one so chooses ) accommodation will also be arranged for everyone in a hotel nearby the marina.
The fleet will be returning from Aberystwyth to Courtown on Sunday the 9th of August along the same route after a skipper and crew briefing at aprox. Ten o clock. Again there will be four stops on the way home. The return journey should be compleated in four hours. Every participant on compleation of the 140 Nautical Mile (240 KM) voyage will receive a certificate of achievement.
