Powerboating Courses in Ireland

Fleet

“Patches”

“Patches” is our flag ship vessel she is a 6 metre commercial Avon R.I.B. (rigid inflatable boat). Anyone who knows R.I.B.s know Avon are among the top R.I.B. manufacturers in the world. Patches was originally made as a safety and stand-by boat so she is built to last. Dont let her looks fool you she tough as old boots and handles like a dream in any conditions. We use patches for all our courses but she really shines on our Advanced Powerboat Course in our heavy weather handling and making passage at night.

Patches was fitted only last year with twin 75hp mariner outboards giving her a speed of around 45 -50 knots, wonderful peace of mind and unparalled manouverability. This boat is is well equiped with alot of offshore safety eqipment and being an avon is one of the safest boats out there this is one of the main reasons we picked her.

“Molly”

“Molly” is the latest addition to our fleet after nearly a year of searching. Molly is a 7.4metre Tornado R.I.B. originally used for dive trips carrying as many as thirteen people on a trip. With this history and the fact that she is a Tornado means her power and sea keeping capabilities are top notch. Her power is delivered via two 115hp yamaha outboard motors again we use the two engines for reliability. Molly is also fitted with twin stainless steel fuel tanks under her deck for a huge cruising range at high speed. Just like Patches Molly is a very safe stable boat with loads of space she is a great platform from which to teach.
