Jet Ski PWC
South East Powerboating is now able to offer P.W.C. or Jet Ski courses as we have three of Irelands first P.W.C. instructors Iain, Paul & Kevin. As many of you will be well aware jet skis are getting ever more popular. Jet ski clubs are popping up all over the country catering for all different interests e.g. racing, cruising, group trips, endurance, freestyle etc. so there is something for everyone.
Here at South East Powerboating we well and truely have our finger on the pulse of this new craze so why not come along and give it a go ? no need to have your own ski we can provide a ski and equipment to you.

-Personal Watercraft Course covers the topics set out here and is usually taught in the order shown, however, the order may be changed due to local conditions or the weather on the course.
Instruction ashore
Introduction: PWC layout & controls, Personal equipment, Pre-launch checks, Safety Info.
Collision avoidance: Rules of the road, Look out, safe speed, overtaking, Local rules/ Bylaws.
Orientation at sea: Charts & basic interpretation, Basic tides.
Weather, Safety, Courtesy to other water users: Weather forecasts, lee shores, Safety & emergency equipment, Courtesy to other equipment, Avoiding pollution.
Instruction Afloat
Launching and familiarisation: Launching from a trailer, Controlling at low speed, Falling off & re-boarding, Control at speed.
Orientation: route planning.
Collision Avoidance: Recognising potential collision situations, taking correct avoiding action.
Control at speed: Slalom exercises.
Emergencies: Towing
